We are now happy to be producing face masks on a cost-only, non-profit basis which means for every mask purchased we will donate an additional plain fabric mask to a non-NHS, front-line organisation such as a charity, food bank or other essential worker group. More information to follow. Please note: this is NOT a medical grade surgical or N95 face mask, so purchase of this mask will not reduce the supply of medical masks which should be prioritised for health workers.
The European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control says non-surgical face masks might help stop the spread of coronavirus by people who are contagious with no symptoms (known as asymptomatic transmission). The latest advice from the UK government is:
- People should aim to wear face coverings on public transport and in some shops
- Also in other "enclosed spaces where social distancing is not always possible and they come into contact with others they do not normally meet"
In the US, the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) have recommended the use of cloth masks in environments where it may be hard to socially distance.
It is essential that wearers of cloth face masks still observe social distancing and wash their hands regularly, and cloth masks cannot guarantee protection for the wearer.
As this is a personal hygiene product, we cannot accept returns.
This design on this fabric face mask is inspired by the Suffragette colours of purple, green and white which were adopted in 1908 by the WSPU in their fight for votes for women. The colours were described as white for purity, purple for dignity and self-respect and green for hope and new life.
