Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes and governs the manner in which Radical Tea Towel collects, uses, maintains and discloses information collected from users (each, a "User") of the www.radicalteatowel.co.uk website ("Site"). This privacy policy applies to the Site and all products and services offered by Radical Tea Towel.

This policy intends to comply fully with the requirements of the European Union's GDPR legislation. We view the secure, appropriate and legal use of personal data as paramount to our business.

Personal identification information

We may collect personal identification information from Users in a variety of ways, including, but not limited to, when Users visit our site, register on the site, place an order, subscribe to the newsletter and in connection with other activities, services, features or resources we make available on our Site. Users may be asked for, as appropriate, name, email address, mailing address, phone number, credit card information.

There are multiple reasons for collecting this data, which are essential for offering the service we provide. These are described further in the 'How we use collected information' section below.

Primarily, we collect personal information in order to respond to a User's request to join our email newsletter, and to enable us to fulfil a purchase order. If a User enters their email address in a pop-up newsletter email collection box, then we add that email to our newsletter as made clear to the User when entering their email. On the checkout page, we also offer Users an opt-in checkbox for allowing their email to be added to the email list.

For a User making a purchase, we require User data including their email address and physical address in order to process the User's order. For example, we may need to contact a User regarding a problem with their order, and do so via email which is the most efficient method. Names and addresses are required in order to confirm payment validity and to deliver a physical order.

Users may, however, visit our Site anonymously.

We will collect personal identification information from Users only if they voluntarily submit such information to us. Users can always refuse to supply personally identification information, except that it may prevent them from engaging in certain Site related activities such as making an order.

Non-personal identification information

We may collect non-personal identification information about Users whenever they interact with our Site. Non-personal identification information may include the browser name, the type of computer and technical information about Users means of connection to our Site, such as the operating system and the Internet service providers used and other similar information.

The reason for collecting this data is in order to gather information about how Users interact with our Site, in order that we can make improvements to our service. This is described further below.

Web browser cookies

Our Site may use "cookies" to enhance User experience. A User's web browser places cookies on their hard drive for record-keeping purposes and sometimes to track information about them. Specifically, this enables a User's shopping basket to be remembered across multiple visits, so that they can depart the site and return later to complete a purchase. It also allows us to collect data about how Users use our Site, for example, what products are viewed and the path that Users take towards the checkout page. This data is collected in aggregate using Google Analytics and BigCommerce (the ecommerce platform on which our Site is built), and is collected anonymously i.e. individuals are not identifiable to us. Users may choose to set their web browser to refuse cookies, or to alert you when cookies are being sent. If they do so, note that some parts of the Site may not function properly.

To send Users information they agreed to receive about topics we think will be of interest to them. For example, sometimes we run giveaways or quizzes which aim to collect Users' email address for subscribing to our email newsletter, with the Users' knowledge and consent.
  • To send periodic emails
The email address Users provide for order processing, will only be used to send them information and updates pertaining to their order. It may also be used to respond to their inquiries, and/or other requests or questions. If User decides to opt-in to our mailing list, they will receive emails that may include company news, updates, related product or service information, etc. If at any time the User would like to unsubscribe from receiving future emails, we include detailed unsubscribe instructions at the bottom of each email or User may contact us via our Site.
