These poster is based on the 1911 song sheet of "The March of the Women", the anthem of the Women's Social and Political Union. The anthem was composed by Ethel Smyth and dedicated to Emmeline Pankhurst. Smyth reputably conducted the anthem with her toothbrush from a window of Holloway Prison. The illustration was by Margaret Morris using the Suffragette colours of purple, green and white.
