This literary gift celebrates Charles Dickens. One of the most famous Victorian authors, Dickens wrote over 15 novels, including Oliver Twist, Great Expectations and A Christmas Carol. Through his writing, he greatly concerned himself with social issues, basing two novels, Great Expectations and David Copperfield, on his own experiences in his youth, when his father was imprisoned for terrible debt and he was sent to work in a blacking factory at just 12 years of age.

This quotation is taken from Dickens's novela 'Doctor Marigold' which examines critical social issues which were much debated in Victorian England – namely adoption and the place of the disabled in the public eye. His social commentaries on the overlooked, the poor, and the invisible continue to resonate for readers today.

Half Panama unbleached organic cotton (heavy weight, textured finish). Stitched on all four sides. Includes hanging loop. Measures approximately 48cm x 70cm. Machine wash at 40 degrees centigrade max. We recommend that before you use your tea towel for the first time you wash it at least once to soften up the material and make it more absorbent for drying dishes. Please note size can vary slightly.
