The coronation of King Charles III in May 2023 has concentrated minds again on the legitimacy or otherwise of a monarchy in a modern, democratic state. Those lacking imagination lament that they can't think of a better system, quite forgetting that Ireland gets on very well with an elected president. And the example our monarchy sets of inherited privilege must surely meet with the disapproval of anyone who believes in a broadly equal society.

Half Panama unbleached organic cotton (heavy weight, textured finish). Stitched on all four sides. Includes hanging loop. Measures approximately 48cm x 70cm. Machine wash at 40 degrees centigrade max.
