Radical Tea Towel Good Causes Giveaway 2018: Vote Now!
Posted by Luke on 6th Mar 2018
At the end of February, we asked our fans to nominate their favourite good causes for our 2018 giveaway.
Vote for your favourite good cause from our shortlist
We received a huge response, and it was slightly painful to have to whittle the ideas down to a manageable five causes:
1. Mary on the Green (the campaign for a statue of Mary Wollstonecraft on Newington Green, London) www.maryonthegreen.org
2. Medical Aid for Palestinians (their cause was close to the heart of Pat Crick, the grandmother who first inspired Radical Tea Towel) www.map.org.uk
3. Womankind Worldwide (empowering women and girls in the developing world) www.womankind.org.uk
4. Llamau (supporting homeless youth in Cardiff, Wales) www.llamau.org.uk
5. Amnesty International (human rights campaigners, supporting brave radicals speaking out in the world) www.amnesty.org.uk
Each of these causes will receive a minimum £200 from us. But we're also throwing in an extra £1,000 and asking you to vote to split it between the good causes.
Vote now for your favourite good cause
We want to involve you, and think that the wisdom of the crowd is quite a good way of deciding where the money's best spent.
At least it's easier than us having to make the tough choice between them - we think they're all doing great work!
We'll split the extra money in proportion to the votes they receive. And we'll publish the results of the vote and the final donation amounts on this email list later this month.
The money will be sent to the organisations before the end of March, no strings attached.
You've got until Sunday 18th March to vote!
Thanks for taking part.
