One of history’s longest and most famous feminist protests traces its origins back to August 1981 when a young mother from rural Wales, Ann Pettit, set in train a movement that would change the face of history.
With three other women determined to challenge government policy and the post war status quo, she set out to march to the US airbase at Greenham Common given over to the US military. The Women for Life on Earth march left Cardiff on 27th August to protest against the decision of the British government to site 96 cruise missiles there. They arrived at Greenham Common on 5th September.
This kicked off a 19-year peace protest against nuclear weapons: the Greenham Common Women's Peace Camp aimed to stop nuclear weapons ever being launched from British soil.

This colourful fabric face mask is made with 3 pleated layers of 200 gsm cotton and measures approx 21.5cm x 13.5cm. The middle layer is made of a close woven blue fabric with hydrophobic and antibacterial finish. Digital printing on high quality, natural fabric using reactive inks, means it will not only have excellent wash fastness and colour vibrancy but also the inks conform to relevant standards meaning there are no harmful chemicals being breathed in. The mask is attached with 2 elastic loops measuring 25 x 0.8cm which fit round the ears and which may be adjusted using the 2 toggles, allowing for flexibility and comfort. Also comes with a flexible metal nose piece for a close fit, which should be removed before washing. Spare nose piece included. Machine or hand wash at 40-60º after each use using detergent to kill any virus. Short spin. Dry naturally, preferably in direct sunlight. As this is a personal hygiene product, we cannot accept returns.
